For those of you interested in or thinking about entering WSQ’s Annual Woodturning Competition.

9 am to midday.

Brian Creese  presenting his first demo to WSQ members and visitors, showing how to create novel bowl designs with turned and/or carved legs or ‘dubbowls’ (figure of 8 with two hollows).

Visitors are welcome

Fee $5.00

The Art of Creating Centrepieces

 Tuesday 20 February, 10.00 am.
Di Hanson from Hanson Mineral Photos ( will talk to us about how she uses timber off cuts (log ends) and resins to create eye-catching centrepieces for your dining table or formal function. If you have any log-end off-cuts, 250-350 mm diameter, 50-70 mm thick, please bring them along instead of throwing them in the scrap bin.

Members who are interested in learning more about these topics from our experts, particularly new or newish members, are encouraged to attend.

Come along and bring one or more pieces that you have created that fit into one of these categories. Share your thoughts on how they could be improved with others. Or maybe a project that is in the design stage that you would like to get some technical advice from other woodturners. 


 An entry fee of $5 includes morning tea.
